About Artefact Consulting: Our Team
Michael Schmitz has founded Artefact Consulting and provides training and consulting services to excellent universities and companies worldwide, whether they are in Argentina, Europe or India.
Before becoming a trainer, Michael has worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, handling both global business management and international client facing roles. He holds a MSc. in International Business and a CEMS Master in International Management from the Rotterdam School of Management and NHH Bergen. Earlier, he completed a BSc. in International Business, studying at Maastricht University and the BI Norwegian School of Management.
Michael speaks fluent German and English and good Dutch and Norwegian.
Having played Handball for more than ten years, he also began Tae Kwon Do at age 15, where he earned a black belt after eight years of hard training, subsequently training children and adults in the same sport.
Scott Neilson is an accomplished leader with over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry on a worldwide level. He has worked in the pharmaceutical, CRO, Central Lab and CMO spaces, and has a broad spectrum of functional experience including Finance, Clinical and Laboratory Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources and Manufacturing.
Scott has a strong international track record, having led operations on 6 continents. He has led the turnaround of two of the top six Global Central Laboratories and has also held senior leadership positions in Clinical Research and Contract Manufacturing.
Apart from working with Artefact Consulting and being a regular guest lecturer on Leadership at 10 universities in the US and Europe, he also blogs about Leadership on www.scottneilson.com.
Scott graduated with a Master of Science in Organizational Development from American University, and an M.B.A. from Lehigh University.
Christi Degen has more than 20 years of experience in international organisations and more than 15 years of management experience. She has acquired substantial knowledge in international projects, in leading intercultural teams and conducting international negotiations. She acted as the programme director in the Community of Business Schools (CEMS), worked as the international relations director at the Faculty of Management at the University of Cologne and has recently been responsible been a Managing Director at the Cologne Chamber of Commerce for the areas of Industry, Economics, Innovation and Environment.
Christi has a long history of teaching and consulting international clients and has specialised in providing key intercultural competences to managers.
Christi has earned a Master in Economics and speaks fluent English, Spanish and German and maintains a conversational level in French and Polish.
Dr. Manfred Nelting
Dr. Manfred Nelting is a medical doctor with more than 20 years of experience in treating and avoiding burn out. He is also the director of the Gezeiten Haus clinic for ambulant therapy and prevention training in Bonn.
He works with individuals in his clinics while supporting companies in developing HR procedures and processes to avoid burn out related problems on an organizational level. His list of clients includes global players, medium sized companies and various government organizations.
Dr. Nelting is available for courses, consultations and projects regarding burn out prevention in Germany
